A Forbidden Fate by Kaven Hirning is out! This is a debut series and I’ve seen people search the blog for it so I had to check it out!
Synopsis
In this series, we’re following a princess named Idalia. Her father is the King of Verdana and they have been enemies with the South Kingdom, Baelliles, ever since she can remember. She was once betrothed to the prince of Baelliles to bring peace between the kingdoms however a curse was put upon the prince and princess that prevents them from ever touching each other. If they do touch, they die and all of the kingdoms crumble with them.
Years passed and Idalia’s father found an opportunity to bring down Baelilles by creating an alliance with the Deep Kingdom Aeradian. He believes they can join forces if Idalia marries their newly crowned King. She leaves the next day for Aeradian, but along the way, her carriage is attacked by bandits. When she’s kidnapped, she finds that the leader of the bandits is the prince of Baelilles himself- Braizen.
It’s been years since they saw each other, but their attraction is still strong even if they hate one another. As Braizen and his group carry out their mission, they run into magical forces that were thought to be myths and Idalia learns she’s not an ordinary princess. As more of the truth is revealed, Idalia and Braizen team up to find a way to break the curse, but it will be a very deadly journey.
My Thoughts
A Forbidden Fate was amazing! The story was well told and I love seeing the POV of both love interests so that was a plus. I want to kiss whatever force is making Idalia choose the right path because if it weren’t for that I have a feeling she would trigger me so much for being so stubborn 😆. I wish the main characters of other books had this force too hahaha.
I ignored the trigger warnings and just went for it but there is a list if you’re interested. Now, about the smut! I like how the sexual tension builds up and it’s sweet torture since they literally can’t touch each other. They do find a way to pleasure each other and I was eating it up!
I’m looking forward to what happens in the next book so I will be reading it as soon as it comes out! I’m curious to know who really is the bad guy like maybe there are multiple enemies. I also want to see how the magic works and Idalia’s history so I’m glad I picked this up. 😊
